Drypoint & Etching
Both techniques involve making marks into the surface of a plate. Drypoint plates are typically plastic or metal and the marks are made with sharp tools to scratch the surface. Etching plates are metal (copper, steel, or zinc) and the marks are made with an etching soloution, typically an acid.
